Im not seeing any errors in the terminal. steve kd5mkv

Xastir map rendering can be a pretty heavy operation, and the
Raspberry Pi has an extremely slow CPU. Your report does not surprise
me.

Try using simpler map files and zooming in so Xastir does not have to
render as much stuff.

I've been wondering why xastir is such a resource-hog, and these missives lead
me to suspect that the pi's GPU is not being fully utilised. After all, it's
capable of rendering 1080p video at 30 frames/second, with tons left over - why
barf so at a basically still picture? This is likely masked by typical use in
machines (Laptops, desktops...) with horsepower to spare - better use of GPUs
if present would be an all-round benefit.
Hopefully helpfully... Dex, ZL2DEX
