Are there ...-current.tgz files which could be grabbed instead of specific 
versions? 

Or, since things are generally moving towards using stuff like yum and
apt-get, perhaps the script should be re-written to take advantage of any
available package management. 

I'm pretty slammed at work (group is down 2 sysadmins, at the moment) so
really don't have much time for fixing, at the moment.
