Again, please keep this on the list --- I'm happy to help, but keeping it on the list can help others find answers to their questions by searching the archives. > > On Sun, May 06, 2007 at 07:40:02AM -0500, we recorded a bogon-computron > > collision of the <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> flavor, containing: > > [...] > >> I checked my get-maptools.sh script against the hacked one, and from what > >> I can tell, it is exactly the same as shown on that web page... > >> So I ran ./get-maptools.sh again, it downloads pcre, shapelib, > >> libgeotiff, and GDAL, then it also downloads gdal-1.2.3, telling me that > >> ldconfig completed successfully on all of them... So either configure failed to find it, or there are other problems. Now the next question. Does configure find libgeotiff? If so, then the answer is probably that you need to make sure /usr/local/lib is in /etc/ld.so.conf. If so, then you probably need an "sudo ldconfig". On the other hand, since I think I recall that you said that configure didn't find libgeotiff, and because get-maptools.sh is supposed to take care of ld.so.conf and ldconfig, this is probably not the problem. Please attach the config.log file --- it will show what happened when configure tried to find geotiff. -- Tom Russo KM5VY SAR502 DM64ux http://www.swcp.com/~russo/ Tijeras, NM QRPL#1592 K2#398 SOC#236 AHTB#1 http://kevan.org/brain.cgi?DDTNM "And, isn't sanity really just a one-trick pony anyway?
