Perhaps your config file got corrupted. Try renaming one of the backup config files in the xastir/config/ directory to "xastir.cnf" and then restarting. You might want to keep a backup of those config files somewhere as they'll get renumbered and the oldest one deleted each time you shut down Xastir. If you don't care about what's currently in your config file you can just delete Xastir and restart.
