The answer will undoubtedly be "/usr/bin/xastir" which is where the pre-packaged Ubuntu xastir will be installed.
>>>It was "/usr/bin/xastir/" Lots of folks are guessing that you've got a problem with permissions on the serial port, but I am thinking that unlikely --- if you did a regular install of Ubuntu, it set your group list to include the permission to write to the serial port. >>>Agreed. Everything that I am seeing says that all the permissions are >>>correct. Permissions was the worry of the Fluxbuntu folks on IRC last night. >>>We went thru everything that we could think of and all the permissions seem >>>to be set for the world. The issue is more likely with how you're configuring xastir. What startup and stop scripts have you selected? What type of interface did you define for it? Is the baud rate set correctly? >>>Start script is the tnc-startup.d700. The stop script is the tnc-stop.d700. >>>Interface is defined as /dev/ttyS0. Baud is 9600. Port is 8N1. All of this >>>seems correct to me, unless there is something not correct in the scripts, >>>Maybe I need to check those. You might want to try connecting directly to the serial port using a serial terminal program for troubleshooting. I don't think there is any terminal program installed under Ubuntu by default. I tend to install "cu", an ancient thing that most folks here probably shun. I don't know any other preferred Linux terminal program but I'm sure someone here will suggest a better one. >>>I will see if I can get that and check it out. >>>Thanks Jim Morgan KE5MKT Midland, TX 79703-6318 USA 432.425.5606 _______________________________________________ Xastir mailing list Xastir@xastir.org http://lists.xastir.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/xastir
