Hello Martijn and Cyril,
I do understand and once again I apologise for the problem encountered with my
version. I am new to getting involved in xbmc/kodi development and I hope you
both understand it was not my intention to offend anybody.
I made the mistake of submitting version 1.1.2. the day before going into
hospital for an operation, from which I am now recovering.
I would still like to see a version of Qobuz XBMC that incorporates my code. I
will be guided by both of you on the best way to approach it though.
Please note that I have tried all other approaches to achieve this, such as
designating an external player and it just doesn't work because of the need for
one url to be fetched from Qobuz at a time. There is no communication between
xbmc and the external player to indicate when the next track should be played,
and so the user would have to do this manually.
My approach of writing a playlist, which is automatically opened by the users
software player of choice, does work and I have quite a few people who are
interested in this solution. It is not something I've just done for myself.
Please advise which of the following approaches could be followed:
1/ I work together with Cryril to thoroughly test my code so that it can be
incorporated into the existing plugin.audio.qobuz with everyone's agreement.
2/ I create a separate plugin with a different name, that would obviously still
draw heavily on Cyril's code and submit this separate plug-in.
3/ I just keep my version for private distribution amongst the people on
various audio forums I belong to who request it.
I've listed these in my order of preference. Obviously 3 is my least favourite
as I do want to contribute to the community at large.
For me version 1.1.3 with my bugfix still looks good; but some testing from
Cyril or anyone else would always be helpful.
I look forward to further advice from both of you.
Thank you,
Best regards,
Geoff Armstrong
