Subject: [xcat-user] The wiki for IB and /etc/hosts
Hi, all.
In regard to
http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/xcat/index.php?title=Managing_the_Infiniband_Network#Modify_the_.2Fetc.2Fhosts
I would suggest a slightly different scheme:
In table hosts add a rule to the other interfaces:
tabdump hosts
#node,ip,hostnames,otherinterfaces,comments,disable
"compute","|\D+(\d+)|192.168.0.(9+($1))|",,"|\D+(\d+)|xcat
($1)-ipmi:192.168.10.(9+($1)),xcat($1)-ib0:192.168.1.(9+($1))|",,
This way /etc/hosts can be maintained with makehosts for large-scale
networks, with ease.
(in this example I combined IB and IPMI just to show how it can be done,
all other IB,ml interfaces can be added the same way - still much easier in
my opinion than adding each and every node to /etc/hosts by hand)
