Can't:

I have no SF account.
If you allowed anonymous wiki edits I'd do as you suggested.
Did you know you can add suggestions like this attached to the
            document by
using the "discussion" tab at the top of the page? Thanks for
            the
            suggestion.

Subject: [xcat-user] The wiki for IB and /etc/hosts

            Hi, all.
            In regard to

http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/xcat/index.php?title=Managing_the_Infiniband_Network#Modify_the_.2Fetc.2Fhosts

I would suggest a slightly different scheme:

In table hosts add a rule to the other interfaces:
            tabdump hosts
            #node,ip,hostnames,otherinterfaces,comments,disable
            "compute","|\D+(\d+)|192.168.0.(9+($1))|",,"|\D+(\d+)|xcat
            ($1)-ipmi:192.168.10.(9+($1)),xcat($1)-ib0:192.168.1.(9+
            ($1))|",,

This way /etc/hosts can be maintained with makehosts for
            large-scale
            networks, with ease.
(in this example I combined IB and IPMI just to show how it can
            be done,
all other IB,ml interfaces can be added the same way - still
            much easier in
my opinion than adding each and every node to /etc/hosts by
            hand)
