SLES 10 SP4, tftp-0.48-1.13, brand new OS and xCAT install. No other tftp was installed before I put on xCAT so this is what xCAT is pulling in during the xCAT setup.

Steps after installing the OS are d/l xCAT core (xcat-core-2.7.2.tar) and xCAT deps (xcat-dep-201206121608.tar), untar them, add them as repos and install xCAT (same procedure I previously used for 2.5.1. No errors during the install itself but when I try and start xcat I get the in.tftpd option errors and tftpd doesn't start.

Which tftp rpm do you have installed?  It should be tftp-server (rhel) or tftp (sles).  Is it possible you have atftp installed instead?  The xcat pkging is intended to get the correct tftp installed, but depending on the steps you used to install xcat, it may not have.  A few more questions:

- what version of tftp is it?
- rhel or sles?
- was this a brand new install of xcat, or an upgrade?  If the latter, what was the previous version?
- what steps did you use to install/upgrade xcat?
