HI, It is not recommended to run xcat command directly on service nodes, but it should work, the latest xCAT code will add all the local ip addresses as trusted in /etc/conserver.cf, so the /etc/conserver.cf on SN should include all the ip addresses on SN, and rcons should work on SN.
Which xCAT version are you using? The latest xCAT stable version is 2.7.5.

Sorry for my late reply. Yes, i mean run the "rcons" command on the
service nodes.
The problem i'm trying to solve is that certain users only have access to
the servicenode and i would like them to be able to use rpower and rcons
from the servicenode. Is this possible somehow or completely against
xcat's design :)
