Fortunately I had run the yum install of xCAT under "script" and going
back through that log there is no evidence of this message appearing:

              xCAT::MsgUtils->message('W', "SELINUX is not disabled,
disabling it now...");

so my guess is that it's not being detected as being enabled.

I'll dig further.
