Hello, Thank you for your help. I eventually found out that my update to xcat 2.8 did not update xCAT-2.8-snap201302181705
One of the side effects was that /etc/httpd/conf.d/xcat.conf was not there so http on the node could not get any install file and therefore decided to boot on its internal disk. Working as designed. It might be nice to have somewhere a list of rpms that should be present after an xCAT install or update. Maybe xcatest is intended for that, I haven't had time to check. Now that I have installed that RPM I can install my nodes. Thank you again for your support. The new way to handle postscripts causes updatenode <nodes> -P <myscript> to fail because I changed the hostname on my node. This change had no side effect on prior xCAT releases, but now causes updatenode to fail. I thought I might do something with a prescript, but updatenode does not seem to trigger a prescript, I guess only nodeset does. Could not updatenode use the node name in the updatenode command rather than the hostname to retrieve /tftpboot/mypostscripts/mypostscript.<name>.tmp ?
