I am getting the same error after upgrading to 2.8.1 from 2.7.6 on SLES 10 SP4. Followed same steps I followed with all other versions. Any ideas?

Hello,

Yes, all makedns and makedhcp commands were run.
I checked that dns was working properly using nslookup from an installed node
I checked that dhcp was properly handing over the address to the installed node (reverting it from static to dhcp)

I have changed to osimage.

It still does not install.

May be something is wrong with installnic as Fabrice Cantos suggested. Even though the address is handed by my dhcpd server I can not ping it, so maybe it is given to another nic.

So I tried to change in table noderes "eth0" by "mac" and encountered an error that destroyed the table and when I tried to restore it from my backup :

did you verified /etc/hosts file,
just check the site table as well ..

Hello,

My hardware is a cluster of x3550 M3 running RHEL5.5. x3550 M4 nodes are to be added soon which explains the migration they'll be installed with RedHat 6.
In order to be ready we decided to migrate the current xCAT server from 2.5.1 to 2.8. It is currently running RHEL 5.5.

makedhcp -n ran, but dhcpd service will not start anymore now :
