No functionality that I know of, yet. We are working on upgrading a site from older 2.3 to 2.8.1, and there's a suite of scripts that use nbfs that we use to bring a node up to full production functionality. We were hoping to be able to keep using nbfs under 2.8.1 until we have time to edit the scripts as necessary to have them work under the new CentOS 6 libraries. The less we have to worry about having ready on day 0 the better :-)

*If* an older nbroot-core should function find under 2.8.1 and is an option, what would I need to do so that a nodeset runimage command tells the node to utilize nbfs instead of Genesis?

I am curious as to whether Genesis is missing something that you need?  nbfs was deprecated since most people considered it too hard to use with apps they write due to the uclibc and busybox, and difficult to maintain/update.

nbroot-core would have to be installed from an older xcat-core branch at the moment.

Hi all,

What are the packages I need to install to make nbfs available on 2.8.1
alongside Genesis? I found the nbkernel package in xcat-dep, however it
complains that nbroot-core is not available, and I am unable to find it
in the dependencies repo at all.

According to the changelog while nbfs is deprecated, it's supposed to
still be available.

Thanks!
