Odd, if the node is in xcat and nodeset <noderange> stat says 'boot', it shouldn't do anything but boot back to hard drive.
I think you have some other issue because at the end of install, that should happen automatically. As a workaround, you can manually nodeset <noderange> boot to instruct it to force hd boot regardless of what firmware attempts.
