Dear xCAT community,
We are pleased to announce the release of xCAT 2.18.2.
This is a maintenance release for the 2.18 series. It includes the changes from
the hotfix 2.18.1 release, which did not have a separate GitHub release.
Highlights:
• Full compliant systemd initscripts
• Kea DHCP behavior
• makedhcp -n once again follows the ISC DHCP replacement model. It
creates a fresh configuration without carrying over old reservations and saves
the previous active configuration as .xcatbak.
• After running makedhcp -n, use makedhcp -a or makedhcp <noderange> to
add the required reservations.
• Unresolved hostnames no longer prevent valid nodes from being
processed.
• Interfaces marked *NOIP* are skipped correctly.
• Failed live reservation updates no longer leave the generated and
active Kea configurations out of sync.
• DNS and network boot
• DDNS retries transient failures and reports persistent errors.
• New installations use HMAC-SHA256 for DNS TSIG on current platforms.
• UEFI clients reporting architecture 00:07 receive the correct boot
loader.
• IPv6 reverse-zone generation no longer loops indefinitely.
• Provisioning and upgrades
• Several Ubuntu Subiquity, ppc64le netboot, Genesis, and mknb issues
have been fixed.
• RPM and Debian package upgrades preserve the existing xcatd service
configuration and enabled state.
