Dear xCAT community,
We are pleased to announce the release of xCAT 2.19.
This is the first 2.19 branch release coming 3 months after our 2.18 revival
release. It marks another important milestone that is the continuity of the
project.
Highlights:
* Experimental new Genesis with OpenEmbedded
- We are shipping a new Genesis method with OpenEmbedded instead of
custom built OS based images. This would allow us the have a slimdown Genesis
appliance that would remove all the variables for the custom build, making it
easier to mantain and improving support quality.
* RISC-V Architecture
- Initial support for RISC-V (riscv64) architecture has landed, which
makes xCAT the first HPC focused RISC-V provisioner.
- EL10, Ubuntu 24.04 and Ubuntu 26.04 are supported for RISC-V.
- Management and provisioned noes are supported.
* PDU Support enhancements
- genpdu now supports generic SNMP PDUs (with PDU2-MIB)
* Vast of bug fixes and modernizations changes

As usual we want to thanks to everyone which is running xCAT and still
considering it. Special thanks this time to Jarrod Johnson who had developed
lots of xCAT fixes in the past that never went through. We did our best to
recover all of them in xCAT 2.19.
