We would also use the Apple default compiler, LLVM 6.0.

But there is nothing inherently problematical or instabilty-causing about
continuing to build using Xcode 3/gcc/10.5sdk and running on 10.10? We’re
getting many more random crash reports running on 10.10.2. Earlier OS X
versions don’t have this problem, and I don’t have any other explanation for
the behavior.

I’m building my OS X product using Xcode 3, on 10.6, using 10.5 as the base and

Upgrading the OS is definitely a change to the build process! If The Mgmt.
think it’s OK to upgrade the OS without also upgrading the compiler to a
version that's compatible with that OS, then they’re operating in terra
incognita and should expect problems.

Put another way, if they want to keep things stable they should set up a build
machine (or a VM) with OS X 10.6 and Xcode 3, and then never upgrade them.
