Check to see the coordinates where XCSoar places the glider (menu Info
-> Info -> Status). It just might be outside the map and/or terrain. The
best way is to specify the home airport ("H" attribute) somewhere within
the map and/or terrain. Sometimes you also need to reset this
information in the *prf file. Or you can "fly" towards the map (it may
take some time though).
