This was (supposedly) fixed in 6.0.3: http://www.xcsoar.org/trac/ticket/816 If you observe that XCSoar operation still gets suspended by manually turning off the screen, reopen that ticket, and specify which Android version you're using (and, of course, confirm that you use XCSoar 6.0.3).
