Hi
I need to put a panel together soon. I am looking at something like the
Subject line. This should be a complete competition system.
The desired functionality is
RedBox - FLARM, IGC logger, task declaration, GPS, SD card
V7 Vario - speed to fly, vario, audio, 5v, polars, final glide, sensor
info, Wind?
XCsoar - talks to V7 and RB, moving map, Flarm and much more
The 2 main problems I see are
- software compatibility
- choosing the right Android device
Software. Can XCSoar:-
- talk to the V7 and sync bugs, water, MC etc. What is missing?
- declare a task to the Redbox (passthru the V7)
- download a log from the RedBox
Android device
There are a number of phones appearing now with 5 inch'ish screens eg
Samsung Galaxy S2 or HTC Sensation XL or a 5 inch tablet. Just need to
workout which ones work best in sunlight

Could also put an IOIO device between XCSoar and the V7 and add
buttons/switches for things like MC, ballast, bugs, Map zoom etc if XCsoar
supported it.
