If there is no current task when "Append to Task" is pushed for the
first time it might make sense to convert this into an o/r task: 
home->added TP->home. Subsequent appended TPs would be added before the
finish as at present. This would be easy to understand: going to the
task editor and clearing the current task is all you need to do as a
preliminary, since XCSoar should already know the home field because it
should have been configured into XCSoar.  

A refinement would be to add a 'New Task' button above the  "Append to
Task" button in order to make clearing the task memory a little easier
to do in the air. There looks to be space for this.
