Maybe that's the way to go in the end. But why not discuss first what I proposed? If the spec is lacking, why not try to fix it instead of using workarounds? Using X- only means that instead of discussing here I'll have to do it in-house and it also means that each distribution is likely to have it's own set of categories that don't match what the others are using.
