So did I, the crashes produce different logs (likely just the effect, after some mem corruption) and I occasionally had these crashes for a while. So this does *not* appear to be a 3.1 regression, which is why I brought these points up. Compiling the kernel with another gcc and pinning the threads did not help BTW.
