Hey I did notice the thread! Thanks for the vote of confidence, Bill ;) I've
seem to have gotten a bit busy with other chores...

 (1) I haven't yet updated the project builder project to work with OS X
final. I may do that this weekend, though I've got to get my taxes done
first ;)  If anyone's got patches I'd be happy to incorporate them.

 (2) I hadn't noticed the tar problem, probably because I always build from
the cvs version. Is this due to the oft-encountered gnu vs bsd tar checksum
error?

 (3) One more point: the Mac OS X support in the port is only for support
atop CarbonCore (maybe that should be CoreServices?). There is no support,
that I'm aware of, for more a more generic unix-style installation. This is
something I'd like to see get in soon. Once again, if someone gets the
patches together I'll make sure they get in.
