Hi. I'm in an environment (Linux, gcc compiler) where there is no advantage that I can see to using the runConfigure script. The instructions mention that it is possible to use configure directly, but they give very little idea of how. A single example, showing how to set one of the xerces-c-specific configure options, like -n or -t, using just the configure script would be very helpful.
Even for those using runConfigure, I see no description in the build instructions web page of what the effect of the different settings for, say, the -n option would be, nor of what the default values for the various options are. I found most of what I needed to know by looking at runConfigure itself. Could the information there be extracted to the web page? Also, I think it's standard practice to add descriptions of package-specific options to the configure script so that they are displayed with the command ./configure --help Thanks, Joanne --- Joanne Bogart Stanford Linear Accelerator Center [EMAIL PROTECTED] --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
