I don't think Singletons are that easy to implement correctly :) I've seen some quite interesting implementation of Singleton concepts... But you're probably right, it would be nice to have it written down somewhere and easily accessible, in a Pattern Repository of some sorts. Did you check c2.com? They have a pattern repository, maybe this helps too.
