I can't say that I like your suggestion. Why would you add position information to the QName? Is it so that you would not have to change the method prototype? However, in relation to enhancing the pipeline itself, we have been discussing how we can augment the pipeline with additional information. See the thread titled "[Xerces2] InfoSet Augmentations in XNI" that was posted on September 20th. The original discussion was trying to address how we are going to pass Post Schema Validation Information (PSVI) in the XNI pipeline.
