If you can use the command line, the easiest way is to apply the server itself with the command "XFree86 -configure". It will generate a test configuration file and tell you to try it out with the command "XFree86 -xf86config <filename>" and it will to the file name. Use the command EXACTLY as it tells you. If it works, copy the file they told you to use to the file name and location of the configuration file that XFree86 always uses in your system. It is usually called "XF86Config" or "XF86Config-4".
