I am trying
to install RedHat Linux 7.2 on AcerPower ST, which uses a Sis 315 or 650 video
card. Unfortunately once I finish the installation it cannot run X. I tried to
configure X with Xconfigurator, but I still can't make it work. Here's what I
tried so far:
- In the
list of available drivers there wasn't the right one, so I chose the closest
ones (Sis 630 and 300) but it never works.
- Although
the vesa driver is in the directory /usr/X11/lib/modules/drivers, I cannot see
it in the list inside Xconfigurator. The vesa driver works with RedHat 8.0 since
it was possible to choose it from the list (during installation it actually
chose it automatically).

I changed the "Driver" line in the XF86config file, and write vesa instead
of sis, but it still doesn't work.
- I went to
http://www.webit.at/~twinny/linuxsis630.shtml and
downloaded his driver, but nada.
Could you
please help me with this problem, or direct me to some site?
