The behaviour of breaking out of an instance of Xindice running in a shell seems to have changed. It used to be that it Xindice came down cleanly and that it also stopped the HTTP and gopher services. Now it seems that it leaves these running and that explicit kills must be done on these process before Xindice can be restarted. I have not yet tested if this behaviour also occurs when starting/stopping Xindice for init.d scripts; I will when I get these put in place for the new release.
