The xindice driver uses XML-RPC over the network, the xindice-embed driver loads the database into the same process and doesn't have anything to do with the network. Other then that the goal is for them to be functionally identical.

I haven't written the configuration part of the embedded driver yet, so right now it just creates a database in the working directory of the process that started it.
