This should be relatively simple. The actual database core is already independent of Xerces, it's just the XML-RPC layer that needs it, or rather needs a UTF-8 capable XML parser (the default used by Apache XML-RPC is not). It just needs to be made configurable.



BTW, any Xindice hackers out there who are looking for contract work implementing changes to Xindice?

I'm always willing to discuss, though my availability is somewhat limited right now.
