Because I want to store a whole bunch of individual documents in it. 'Instances' to use the old SGML term. If I write a weekly column and store each one in Xindice, then each column is as far up as the tree goes. They don't have to be "files" but they are documents, and 'collection' is an appropriate term for the bunch of them. Frank
