It was kind of rethorical question, because of sentence below: :-)
No script will be able to run anyway, as all the libraries are packed into a war file.
But once you deploy this war file, you can access tools residing in <webapps>/xindice/WEB-INF directory.
I guess you mean xindice.sh resp. xindice.bat , right?
Yes, WEB-INF/xindice.[sh|bat] IIRC, I tested xindice.bat, and xindice.sh under cygwin.
