Generally, this is the function of the MDA (Mail Delivery Agent), such as
procmail or mail.local to write mbox format files, in this case, delivery
to the archive is via Ecartis, so Ecartis needs to be able to write
correctly formatted mbox files....
So I can think of many places to look at *how* one goes about handling the
situations above... (mail.local code anyone?)
