Banners can be used by hackers to determine vulnerabilities on a system.
The ability to set the banner to "Go Away" or whatever allows the
administrator to protect their systems from prying eyes just a bit more.

nope, not possible with xmail and not needed.

the sendmail/.../... programmers should take the time to fix bugs and
simple configuration instead of kidding around with 'nice to meet you'
status msgs... they are completely unnecessary and a normal user will
never see it.
