this seems similar to the behavior we're seeing with the REDIRECT issue on
solaris -- were there are TWO entries for many messages in the log files,
and randomly redirect doesn't send on to another host (on the same lan) --
in our case we always seem to get the mail into the inbox though (afaik,
no one has complained about missing mail sent internally yet)

we've been running xmail since 1.10 and didn't have the problem until
around 1.16 (could have happened in 1.15, i'm not sure)

we don't do any other processing (currently) on the incoming mail
