A bit of a newbie question,
I have a complete .59 ROMset on /var/games/roms/mame59 and am trying to update to the 60 ROMset.
I have downloaded all the new ROMs to /var/games/roms/mame60 and the ROM fix files to /var/games/roms/mame59-60fix. In order to merge all of these components together into one ROM set I have tried the following:
# mkdir /var/games/roms/current
# cp /var/games/roms/mame59 /var/games/roms/current
# cp /var/games/roms/mame60 /var/games/roms/current
How do I merge the fixfiles? As they contain only the changed ROMS in zip files with the same names copying them into the current directory will destroy the unchanged ROM data.
Is there a utility that I can use to merge ROM sets? And what is the best way of doing this?
Title: Merging / updateing romsets
Hi
!
To
merge the fixes in the sets you must put the files in the
zip-files.
For
testing the new/fixed sets i use two path for the sets.
The
path with the new/fixed sets is the first path.
The rest of new/changed sets goes to the first
path.
In the
xmamerc i set following for the paths at home:
/windows/K/roms:/windows/K/mame/roms
The
"old" sets are in /windows/K/mame/roms and the new sets in the first
path.
The
best way is the to use a frontend who make a full xmame
-verifyroms.
Try
qmamecat or an other often used frontend.
Ciao
