Title: Merging / updateing romsets
If you have the disk space, copy your current 0.59 roms to another directory,  then copy the .60 fix/new roms into the new directory, overwriting any files with the same name.   That way you can test .60 with the new directory and still have .59 if you still need it around.

Subject: [Xmame] Merging / updateing romsets

Hi,

A bit of a newbie question,

I have a complete .59 ROMset on /var/games/roms/mame59 and am trying to update to the 60 ROMset.

I have downloaded all the new ROMs to /var/games/roms/mame60 and the ROM fix files to /var/games/roms/mame59-60fix. In order to merge all of these components together into one ROM set I have tried the following:

# mkdir /var/games/roms/current

# cp /var/games/roms/mame59 /var/games/roms/current

# cp /var/games/roms/mame60 /var/games/roms/current

How do I merge the fixfiles? As they contain only the changed ROMS in zip files with the same names copying them into the current directory will destroy the unchanged ROM data.

Is there a utility that I can use to merge ROM sets? And what is the best way of doing this?

Thanks,

Brett Samuel
