Modelines are very specific to your hardware. It's a bad idea to just
use any. I've successfully used all sorts of non-standard modes with
modelines using the nvidia drivers and my gf3 ti200. there's a modeline
generator at:

http://xtiming.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/xtiming.pl

Try this for the best results.
