I think my next card will be N-Vida based. My solution was to buy a cheap VGA->TV dongle, one of the LifeView brand ones. These are ok, but they don't store the settings through a power-down, so I wont reccomend them outright. This cost about A$150 (70 Euro, US$68), but you can use any old video card with it. It has s-video out, on my cheap TV (51cm bought new for the cabinet) it looks ok with gRustibus (use big fonts), and pretty good with raster games.
