A while back there was a discussion on killer instinct and trying to get
it to run at playable speeds. I'm running an Athlon Thunderbird 1.33GhZ
with 512MB of DDR ram. I built most of the optimizations and the dynarec
core into xmame 0.72.1 (that's the one that just got released right?) and
I can play killer instinct at very playable speeds. I believe around
45-60fps. I don't know if this is due to code changes in the last xmame
release or what, but with the previous version i got around 10fps with
kinst. Also, I updated my nvidia drivers in the past couple days, but the
changelog didn't indicate anything major.
So in summary, if you couldn't get kinst to play well before, compile the
latest xmame and try again. :)

I think this change on speed is due to MIPS_DRC emulation that you have
compiled in this time, but MIPS_DRC was in mame before 0.72.1 . It's
clear that the killer Isntinct system emulation in mame need
optmizations... we got this in full speed with U64Emu and this "ultra
speed" difference can not be assigned only to the emulation accuracy way
of mame devs. They will soon fix it, I hope :).
