I looked at the ACT Labs gun, but I decided against buying it.  The fact that 
(as I recall) their documentation says that it has to strobe the screen (much 
like the old 8-bit NES did) in order to read positioning info made me kind of 
leery.

I, too, would be willing to make a cash donation to somebody willing to do 
meaningful research into lightguns for use with XMame, especially if it lead to 
being able to use 2 guns at the same time (for 2-player games)

Maybe PlayStation light guns could be used as well? (with one of those EMS 
Playstation-to-USB controller cables)
