AFAIK the reason MAME devs don't add gambling games is because they do not classify them as arcade games. I don't think there are any moral or ethical issues involved other than "video poker is not pacman". It certinaly does not fall in the same category as adding games from 2002+ for example.
If that is the case then I'm sure the core team won 't object to us bundling mage and there is no problem. I'm just saying we better ask first.
