Make that "Next-Version-0-40", with a dash, not a dot. I'll try it out right away! BTW, seems like current xmame CVS has a game list of 0.89u1 and not plain 0.89 (vf3, srally2...), is this intended, or will it be reverted back to the main 0.89 one for the release?
