No offense intended, by what you say is incorrect. XXE deployed as a Java[tm] Web Start application: * By default, allows off-line editing (e.g. on a plane). * Is as fast as the desktop application. * Can be started by double-clicking an icon found on the desktop, just like a normal application (i.e. you don't need to use a web browser for that). Java[tm] Web Start should not be confused with Java[tm] applets. Java[tm] Web Start means: web-based automated install and upgrade; no less, no more. Most of our customers managing a group of XXE users deploy XXE using Java[tm] Web Start. We, XMLmind, also did that, as a service, for Renault F1 Team in France. Thus, what we say here reflects a first-hand experience.
