Basically I like your product.

I've been experimenting with a custom configuration for the needs of our
organization.

And I've generally been satisfied with the experience. This is in spite of
the
fact I'm no fan of XML and all it's tools.

Anyway. In the course of creating a custom configuration I had
occasion to address some issues regarding the customization
of existing DTDs by importing and overiding the DocBook ones
included with XML mind. Due to the XML design - url->catalog-> ...
It's sometime difficult to figure out where all the pieces
involved are actually comming from. What would be helpful
is some way to display the "provinence" of any given XML
element. That is the chain of dtds/catalogs, etc from
when it came.

Also some sort of switch to guarentee that it doesn't
get something with from the net without telling you.
(like the -nonet switch from XSLTproc).

Of course it's entirely possible that some such
facility isn't necessary because the information is
easily available some other way or maybe I'm
just doing it wrong. Anyway - any kind of
suggestions/help are appreciated.

In other words - more debugging help for
custom configurations.

Thanks for a great product.
