Thanks for the help. I've submitted a bug report at https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=28432 and over on the spice-devel list. It's going to be hard for linux users to use spice without a working qxl driver, so hopefully this gets resolved in a timely manner.
