I'm unclear. Are you using a Tecra 9000 ? If not my config file won't help you. .... It won't help you anyway it's pretty stock standard as produced by xconfigurator ... :) If you want to get XFree86 working on a Tecra 9000 you need to use the drivers available on the S3 website. www.S3graphics.com (I think ...:) ). Install the new copy of savage_drv.o and then run xconfigurator. (NB. When you run xxonfigurator choose any card that matches the driver name (ie. savage_drv.o). I use either Savage Generic or Savage MX. If you are using XFree86 4.1... then you may like to look at Tim Savage's driver (which he claims is more up to date that the S3 one). NOTE: It is compiled for Xfree86 4.1 and won't work with 4.03 which incidentally ships with RedHat 7.1 (I can't comment on other distros). > how to get rid of the keyboard problem (since I didn't get enough clues > from the posting). regarding the keyboard repeat. I actually spelt out fairly clearly the approach I used on the Xpert list. It's in the January 2002 archive. But a summary is: Get accessx software (I can't rememeber the address it's in the archives). Compile and install it. You will use the 'ax' programme. Initially I used gnome so I modified my .xinitrc file so that was something like: /usr/local/bin/ax -timeout +bouncekeys bouncedelay 25 /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc I now use KDE and I needed to modify .Xclients (I think). I then started using switchdesk so I had to modify the switchdesk scripts in /usr/share/apps/switchdesk/Xclients.kde and twm (The two desktops I use). Although I expect that most SANE people would just use the one desktop all the time :) Hope this helps, Wilson Fletcher McLachlan Software Pty Ltd > Nino Margetic <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> | Centre National de Genotypage, Evry, France > --- > _______________________________________________ Xpert mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/xpert
